Job Description:
Duties: The successful candidate will oversee hardware and software specific to the library; web services, information access and production technologies; the library's ILS (ExLibris's ALEPH); will work to develop and implement new and innovative technologies and services; will plan and implement upgrades; and will represent the library's information technology interests within the College and in SUNY-wide initiatives. He/She will also be responsible for planning and implementing library-wide policies and procedures; training and supervision of a newly created Library Technologies Department within the Library team; reference, instruction, and collection development; and, working in partnership with Academic IT and other technology departments on campus.

Requirements:
Required Qualifications: Master's degree in library, information science, computer science, or related field; five years of professional experience (at least two years supervisory); experience related to implementing library technologies in an academic setting; evidence of strong supervisory and management skills; a high level of technical expertise in technologies related to library systems and web development; outstanding written communication skills; outstanding oral communication skills; outstanding interpersonal skills; and, the ability to work creatively, collaboratively, and effectively, both as a team member and independently.  
 
Preferred Qualifications: Progressively more responsible managerial experience in an academic library; advanced working knowledge of an integrated library system, preferably Ex Libris ALEPH, the ILLiad interlibrary loan system, EZProxy remote authentication software, the Serials Solutions 360 Suite, and Windows operating systems and networking technologies; experience in a learning commons environment and experience working with diverse populations; experience designing and maintaining web pages, with advanced knowledge and understanding of website technologies, including in-depth knowledge of one or more web markup or scripting languages (e.g. HTML, ASP, Javascript, etc.); fluency with current and emerging library technologies.
